Written by Sofia Sacaguing

Caloocan City Sports Complex – Even at the height of the pandemic, Communication Students of the University of Caloocan City arrayed their caliber as the documentaries “Salamat Po Guro” and “Sa Ngalan Ng Ama” won awards during the virtual awarding of the National Council for Children’s Television.

And in honor of students’ valor, the local government of Caloocan bestowed Christian Feliciano of Von Productions; and Sofia Millen Sacaguing, Jessa Mae Barammeda, Jamaicah May Cruz, and Joshua Ashley Cailao of Daloy Productions with a special recognition in the field of film & literature during the Outstanding Citizens Awards (OCA) Night 2022.

This successful prestigious event is not just only an instrument to recognize noble works of constituents, but OCA Night is also encouraging more Yusisistas to take part in different national competitions and to raise the flag of UCC among other big universities.

BA Communication program from the university has been recognized for three consecutive years now by the local city as they brought excellence from various national competitions. This became part of the program’s mantra to explore their skills out of their comfort zone.
